July 3, 2011 - With America’s Independence day right around the corner, The US has conducted its first drone strike on Islamist militants in Somalia, marking the expansion of the pilot-less war campaign to a sixth country. In case you forgot America has already used drones in Iraq, Afghanistan, Yemen, Pakistan, Libya, and now Somalia. These attacks help fuel the fire of hatred that is raging against the US. I’m totally against all this stuff. It’s scary to me because when you bomb a country, you own the consequences and breed hate from a lot of people that can come back to bite you….blow-back, as the CIA calls it. When you’re engaged in 6 countries, who knows what could happen. If we keep attacking other sovereign nations, pretty soon they will attack us. They claim they are attacking terrorists and militants, but all they are succeeding in doing is make a volatile country more unstable. The sad part is no one is going to stand up for Somalia because they fear what the US is going to do to them. America has become the biggest bully in the world, often doing as they please with no repercussions. But its no secret that America is a military country, accounting for 43 percent of the global distribution of military expenditure. It seems like the US will always have to be involved in some kind of conflict in order to justify the money they spend on our military.
